PTCL launches Pakistan’s first 3G Android Smartphone IVIO Icon Pro.

PTCL introduced Pakistan‘s first 3G Android smartphone, PTCL IVIO Icon Pro (Touch N Fly), with built in 3G EVO wireless broadband service and a dual support for both EVDO and GSM/CDMA networks.

Based on Android 2.2 Froyo and powered by a 600 MHz Qualcomm processor, Smartphone IVIO Icon Pro is yet another first of its kind product introduced by PTCL in Pakistan’s handsets market. Some months back PTCL launched it’s first 3G EVO Tab & Now they have come up with 3G Android Smartphone. Pakistan’s First 3G Enabled Smartphone Android Tablet – 3G EVO Tab didn’t make a positive impact on people let’s hope this does!

Export your Nokia Ovi Contacts to any Computer easily!

Nokia is discontinuing it’s service Ovi Contacts for general public, The service will stay but you won’t be able to access your address book from the web browser… After January 24, 2012 You will no longer be able to view your contacts on the web.
Syncing & Backup will continue to work normally & you will not loose any of your contacts but you will be unable to view them from the website.

The address book of your Nokia handset (I am talking about the new Nokia Phones which are supported by Ovi Store) is stored in the online Ovi Contacts, Same as Android phones use Google Contacts to store your Contacts Online. but Nokia Ovi Contacts has only 1 limitation.

Until now, Nokia Ovi offered no export feature so there was no easy way to download your Nokia Phone’s address book from the web to any computer unless you had a Nokia device at hand. The Ovi Suite (Nokia’s desktop synchronization software) didn’t have an export option for Contacts either so your phone contacts were sort-of locked in Nokia’s cloud.

Nokia has set up a microsite – exportcontacts.ovi.com – where you can download your entire Ovi address book in the popular CSV format with just a click. You don’t need the Nokia device or the Ovi desktop suite to export your contacts. The CSV file can can then be imported into Google Contacts.
If you are a Nokia user, You have to hurry up, because according to an email from Nokia, the web access to Ovi Contacts will be disable after January 24, 2012.

Nokia Pakistan recently launched a service for its customers in Pakistan to extend the warranty period of their Nokia Mobile Devices. The service which is called Nokia Care Protect is the service which will be purchased additionally to extend the original limited warranty period, from the day when it ends, for more 12 months giving you support for total of 24 months from the day you first bought the phone. AppleCare+ is the service from Apple for iPhone customers which can be referred as similar to the Nokia Care Protect.
Moreover Nokia Care Manager Pakistan and Afghanistan Raza Burney told that on Base of our research, average phone life for a consumer in Pakistan ranges from eighteen months to twenty four months. The first 12 months are covered by original warranty but after the expiry of the warranty the consumers did not had an option for warranty claims.
With Nokia Care Protect is an add-on service from Nokia to offer its customers peace of mind and give them the freedom to make the most of their mobile device. There is no hidden or additional fee involved – with a single, upfront fee, consumers can avail all their mobile phone support and repair needs for another 12 more months after the expiry of the original warranty. Nokia customers have to simply select the plan to match their Nokia mobile device:
- Nokia 1000 to 2000 range &C1, C2, X1, X2, E1, E2 devices [Rs. 600]
- Nokia 3000 to 7000 range & C3, C5, C6, X3, X5, X6, E5, E6 devices [Rs.1550]
- Nokia Eseries and Nokia Nseries & C7, X7, E7, N8, N9 devices [Rs. 2800]
There are three easy ways to receive support: online, in-person at any Nokia Care Centre or by phone. Nokia Care Protect gives easy access to Nokia device experts who are available to guide consumers through all their queries and repair needs.

Users who have iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, 3rd & 4th Generation iPod Touch, or an iPad you can now download Apple’s latest OS, iOS 5.
If you don’t upgrade what you will be missing is.. “Pull Down Notifications, iCloud, iMessage, Find my Friends, Twitter Integration and Lock Screen access to your Camera and Siri” but unfortunately Siri at the moment is only available for iPhone 4S.
