How to Disable Facebook Timeline.

1

Here comes a simple question How to disable Facebook Timeline.. Many people around me don’t like the new Facebook timeline, and they want to get their old profile back.

.re

.

Some weeks back, Facebook rolled out its new Timeline feature to all of it’s users. Some like me are loving this Timeline & some are hating it. The new Facebook Timeline layout offers new and interesting features, some users on Facebook are finding it too complicated & some of the Annoyed users are dreadfully finding ways to disable and get rid of this Facebook Timeline feature.

Some months back Facebook released a Developer application through which users can enable Facebook Timeline and test it. The Users who activated this only had the option to downgrade by simply deleting that app they created while enabling Timeline from Developer Setting Page.

Now that the Timeline feature  has been released for all users, Facebook stated that it will go live automatically after seven days, no matter if you like it or not. Unfortunately, there is no way you can disable it.

Once you click “Get Timeline,” you will have seven days to review everything that appears on your timeline before anyone else can see it.

If you choose, you can publish your timeline right away. If you decide to wait, your timeline will go live automatically after seven days. Your timeline will replace your profile.

Eventually everyone on Facebook will be rolled over to timeline.

.

So, the simple answer is you cannot disable Facebook timeline.. You have no choice so better start loving this feature ;)

New Facebook Photo Viewer

facebook photos pop-up

This is a screenshot of the new Facebook Photo Viewer that I think went live for all users sometime this week.

The upgraded photo viewer still uses the theatre layout for displaying pictures inside a pop-up but at least they have moved away from that black background that was never really liked by Facebook users. Another change worth mentioning is that Facebook has also removed the ads from their photo viewer.

Do you like the new layout? If your answer is no.. than you can easily switch back to the Old Classic Layout by simply hitting the refresh button (F5) in your browser.

You know, the humble keyboard shortcuts. From Ctrl+C to Ctrl+Alt+Delete, these key combos certainly help improve productivity. Here are some relatively lesser known keyboard shortcuts that can make your day in front of the computer better.

Try the shortcuts listed below and do share this page on Twitter or Facebook if you find something useful in here.

- Create new folders.

If you want to create a new folder in Windows what will you do? File/right click menu options to create a new folder in Windows Explorer. Instead of this you can create a new folder by hitting Ctrl+Shift+N – a new folder appears right in the Explorer window. You can rename it from there!

- Ctrl+Shift+T (Reopen accidentally closed tabs)

Somwtimes you accidently hit the cclose button in the Browser, Don’t worry! Now you can open it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+T. This shortcut works in almost all famous browsers.

- Facebook: Alt+1 to Alt+0 for

Almost all of us are familiar with the name Facebook. and you probably don’t know who  to check notifications & news feed without using Mouse.  Alt+1 will take you to the home page.

Alt+2 to the Profile Page.

Alt+3 Friend Requests.

Alt+4 Messages.

Alt+5 to the Notifications.

You can check the remaining by yourself. If you’re using Mozilla Firefox, Press Alt+Shift instead of just Alt. (Because it’s Firefox) ;)

- Twitter.com: Surf twitter with keyboard shortcuts.

If you tweet actively via the Twitter web interface, these shortcuts could be tremendously useful to you.

- Google Search:

Right arrow for instant preview, Up/Down Keys to navigate search results

If you search Google with Instant turned on, you can use the up/down arrow keys to put the focus on one search result after another. You can then use the right arrow key to see an instant preview of the highlighted result.

- Windows: Print Screen & Alt+PrintScreen

If  you want to take a screenshot in Windows you just hit Print Screen. But if you want to take the Screen shot of just active window hit Alt+PrintScreen

Missing Some Updates From Friends In Your Facebook News Feed?

0

If you’re a big Facebook user, chances are you’ve run into the odd occasion when you’ve posted an update that apparently nobody saw. It’s like you’ve been cut off from your friends, and while they thought you’d fallen off the face of the planet you’d actually been waxing lyrical with nobody to read it.

The problem lies with the way Facebook now defaults to showing just the most popular updates in the reader’s News Feed. What this means is that the updates with the most comments and/or likes get shown to the reader, not a complete stream of what their friends are saying, sharing and posting.

As with all things like this, there is a way to fix it – clicking the Most Recent/Top News toggle on the top-right of the feed changes the views. Simple, right? Well, not entirely.

Readers can still miss updates this way, thanks to an option hidden deeper inside Facebook. Often not all friends’ updates are shown thanks to an option that chooses whether all updates get pushed to your News Feed, or just those from people you interact with the most. Again, there’s an option you can change (arrow pointing to said option above) just to be sure.

The best way to fix this issue in the long run is to make sure all your friends know about these options and hope they take the time to check their settings.
