Completely Remove Facebook Questions In Firefox And Google Chrome
0
The “Questions” feature in Facebook may be useful to some folks, but I don’t find it useful for a couple of reasons.
First, the questions are more geared towards fun and virality rather than usefulness. I agree that the nature of questions depends on the people you’re connected to but I have hardly seen anyone praising the usefulness of Facebook questions.
Second, whenever there is a world event like the Royal wedding or the launch of a new gadget, my timeline suddenly gets filled with dozens of irrelevant questions in which I have no interest at all. Worst thing is that the same question appears multiple times in the timeline, whenever there is a new answer or someone posts a comment to the question
And the notifications.“Mr X has answered Mr Y’s question”. After a while, this gets really annoying and the sad part is that Facebook does not allow you to block Facebook questions like you can block a particular application, game, invites or a user.
Here is what the FAQ page reads
As with other Facebook applications like Photos and Events, there is no way to turn off Questions.
If you’re fed up with the spammy nature of Facebook questions and want to turn off the clutter, try the Hide Facebook Questions extension for Google Chrome. The extension hides every evidence of the “Questions” feature so your news feed doesn’t get cluttered with polls.Once installed, you will need to refresh Google Chrome and the Questions feature will vanish from your timeline.
And so will the notifications that used to come when one of your friends answered a question asked by another Facebook friend of yours.

Firefox fans can try the more advanced FB purity add-on which lets you fix some other annoyances apart from hiding Facebook questions in Firefox. For example, FB Purity allows you to use the older Facebook commenting system, where pressing Enter or Return adds a new line to your comment, and pressing the “Comment” button submits the comment.
I would suggest FB purity add-on! & now FB purity add-on is also available for Google Chrome, Opera & Safari web browsers.

How to Block tweets by a specific person or tweets under a #Hashtag?
1Everyone you follow on Twitter talks about a few things that you care about and a ton that you don’t. You don’t want to miss out but don’t have time to read everything.
“Slipstream” helps you hide what you don’t care about so you can read what’s relevant. It works seamlessly on top of Twitter.com via a simple button at the end of every tweet: “Hi de”.
Let’s make Twitter relevant, just for you.
Lets make it simple… You follow a couple of people on Twitter who are big fans of cricket and thus, whenever there’s a game happening anywhere in the world, your Twitter timeline gets flooded with tweets that are of least interest to you.
That’s just one example but there are plenty of other sources that add noise to your Twitter timeline – some people may be broadcasting their location through Foursquare, iPhone users do the same with Instagram pictures and then there’s the Royal Wedding happening that may have completely hijacked your Twitter feed.

Don’t you sometimes wish there were a mute button on Twitter that would let you temporarily block people from your timeline without having to unfollow them?
Some Twitter apps – Tweetdeck for example – do offer simple text filters (you can access them from settings) to help you hide tweets that either contain certain words, match an #hashtag or have been written by particular people.
However if you are not using any app but the regular Twitter.com website, you should check out Slipstream – a super useful extension for Google Chrome that cleans up your Twitter timeline automatically as you like.
It work this like. You’ll find a new hide link next to all tweets – you just have to click this link to define a new filter which may be something like hide tweets that contain the word #FF. Save the filter and you’ll never see another Follow Friday tweet in your timeline again.
Alternatively, you may also leave the text criteria blank and that will hide all future tweets from that particular user (just like the Mute button you were looking for). You can always disable / delete existing filters from the options menu. Simple!
Try Slipstream on Google Chrome (For now it’s only available for Chrome, Not for Firefox)
